[Recipe] Raw Avocado Cacao Mousse

May 26, 2016 § 14 Comments

Once my husband learnt that this decadent dessert contained avocado – he was reticent to try some, so I used sprinkles to entice him…then he ate most of mine!. Enough backstory, here’s the recipe.

Ingredients

…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

2 ripe avocados
1 banana (optional)
3 tablespoons coconut oil (optional)
2 tablespoons of raw honey (substitute with agave nectar or maple syrup if you’re not paleo)
1/2 cup unsweetened raw cacao powder (add as desired)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Pinch of sea salt (optional)
2 tbsp of chia seeds (optional)
garnishings of your choice

Preparation time : 10 minutes / serves 2
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

1. Blend all ingredients till you achieve a smooth – paste like consistency.
2. Decant the mousse to ramekins and refrigerate for an hour (I was rather gluttonous and opted for half an hour).
FYI shelf life is 2 days

Enjoy
